Which is the best sea food restaurant in Edmonton?

Alfred S

My family is a big fan of sea food and have just moved to Edmonton. I want to know about good sea food restaurants in Edmonton, preferably serving buffet.

Answer
Unfortunately I know of no restaurant in Edmonton which has a seafood buffet. What might interest you are the websites of the restaurant reviews in Edmonton. I use them all the time when I'm searching for a new restaurant to try. I will read all the reviews tfrom people who have visited these restaurants have to say and then decide where I'm going next.

These sites have served me well since moving to Edmonton when I couldn't found a restaurant I liked. I then started to rely on these reviews from everybody to see how liked each of the places. Not only do most of them have reviews, there are maps to find them, price range and what types of foods they serve.

The next website lists 40 Edmonton Seafood restaurants along with what they serve, where they're located, price range, etc. This is an excellent site for reviews - I love to use this one. Check it for all types of restaurants in all areas of the city.

Occasionally some of the restaurants do put on All You Can Eat specials like at Joey's Only and Red Lobster - which the individual websites will advertise - many times not only will you find the specials but by signing up they'll send you coupons and member's only specials.

I understand trying to find restaurants that fit your taste buds in a new city can be frustrating but sometimes it's just a matter of trial and error. There are lots of wonderful restaurants in our city and as I've said a good way to find them is by reading some of the reviews and just trying them. You never know they may become YOUR favorite restaurant.

In case you're interested the following link lets you check out your restaurant of choice's health inspection. Just enter the name of the restaurant to see what if any infractions they have or have had. Good idea if you've never eaten there before.

Hopefully you've found this as helpful as I've found these sites.

Good Luck.

where to get donair seasoning?

Faizal

well i live in edmonton alberta i saw a video on how ta make donairs but i have all the stuff except the seasoning if any of you can help me get seasoning in edmonton i would really apresiate it

Answer
these recipes and all that i found on the web , make thier seasoning from scratch not store bought

Ingredients
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground oregano
1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 pound ground beef

1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
3/4 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons garlic powder
4 teaspoons white vinegar, or as needed
Directions
1.Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a cup or small bowl, mix together the salt, oregano, flour, black pepper, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
2.Place the ground beef in a large bowl, and use your hands to blend in the spice mixture. If you want the smooth texture of meat that you see in a real donair shop, you must do this in a steel mixing bowl and on a sturdy surface. Pick up the meat, and throw it down with force about 20 times, kneading it after each throw. This also helps the meat hold together better when you slice it.
3.Form the meat into a loaf, and place it on a broiler pan. If you do not have one, a baking sheet will do.
4.Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes in the preheated oven, turning the loaf over about half way through. This will ensure even cooking. This cuts better if you chill the meat overnight before slicing.
5.To make the donair sauce, mix together the evaporated milk, sugar and garlic powder in a medium bowl. Gradually whisk in the white vinegar, adding 1 teaspoon at a time, until thickened to your desired consistency.

Donairs are a delicacy prevalent in the Canadian east coast, and certainly centered on the City of Halifax, the are very simple to prepare and very delicious. Make a double batch of the meatloaf, and freeze the second loaf for later, if fact the second loaf will be better! When cold you can slice it thinner and fry up the slices in the frying pan as you need them."
Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/3 cup bread crumbs
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt

2/3 cup nonfat evaporated milk
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup vinegar

6 pita bread rounds
3 tomatoes, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
Directions
1.Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
2.In a medium bowl, mix together the ground beef, bread crumbs, cayenne pepper, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, ground black pepper, and salt. Press into an 8x8 inch square baking dish, or casserole dish.
3.Bake for 2 hours in the preheated oven, until cooked through. Set aside to cool for at least 1/2 hour, the meat will slice even better if it is actually chilled completely.
4.To make the sauce, combine the evaporated milk, sugar and vinegar in a jar with a lid, and shake well to blend. Set aside to thicken.
5.Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, and slice off thin slices of the meat loaf. Fry the slices briefly in the hot skillet, until browned on each side. Remove from the skillet, and keep warm. Flick a little water onto the hot skillet, and brown the pita breads a little on each side to soften.
6.Load up one side of pitas with meat slices, tomatoes and onion. Spoon sauce over the filling, and fold pitas in half, then towards the center. Voila, you're eating!
