I am looking for websites that sells Aluminum colored dinner plates, cups, bowls, serving ware, platters, pitchers please.
Answer
Russell Wright is known for aluminum ware, including dinnerware and serveware, it is collectible and beautiful, like art. The pieces are made of spun aluminum.
There are also sets of aluminum pieces, some with anodized, colored coatings, at retailers and catalogs everywhere. Try at these retailers:
Crate and Barrel has polished aluminum sets and individual serving pieces and also a Lines brand of items
Wendell August Forge sells decorated platters and ornaments made of aluminum, pewter, etc
Any army/navy surplus store has camping and extreme gear sets that include these pieces
Amazon has an anodized tumbler, pitcher set and I think you can get chargers for placing under dinner plates to match, in silver aluminum
Target has the retro drinkware collection including ice cream cups and matching accessories made of spun aluminum (inside) and colored, anodized exterier
Nambe does very good, but pricy aluminum pieces, also, but they tend to be highly polished.
Pottery barn had silver coloredmetal chargers that looked like spun aluminum, but I don't know if post-Christmas, they still have any.

I need hair ideas for my year 11 dinner dance!?

xy
ok so in a few weeks i have this year 11 thing which is like a dinner dance. dress code is like cocktail dresses and i have my dress (its just above my knee, champaigne colour, spaghetti straps and kind of gathering around the boob area) but i have no idea which hair and makeup to do.i have quite pale skin, hazel/blue coloured ees and medium/long light brown hair with blonde highlights, layers and a side fringe.
anyway so my question is, how should i do my hair and makeup? i have no idea! pictures and direction would be great, thanks
Answer
Hey Honey
How exciting!! I remember my year 10 dance, i looked through zillions of magazines for cute hairstyles. I got heaps of paper cuts but no ideas.
Im guessing you'd like to look absolutely fabulous and stand out. So i'd advise staying away from curls because most of the girls at my dance and probably yours will have them. Curls can also be unflattering and some faces.
Over the last year i've been doing peoples hair and makeup for weddings, formals etc and found alot of people want to EXACTLY match their makeup to their clothes which is a no no. Blue dress does not mean blue eyeshadow, ever =]
I think for a champange colour dress, try a retro look with smoky eyes and a red pout, belt and shoes. Super glam, and nobody else will look the same! Also, this will set off your pale skin. Check out the photo below, this is the look ill be explaining how to get.

Try applying concealer that is a little darker (2 or 3 shades) than your natural skin tone to either side of the bridge of your nose to make it appear thinner and a concealer or powder a few shades lighter to the ball (end) of your nose.
For your eyes apply a dark brown/kohl colour eyeliner to the top of your eyelid. Try a medium caramel colour all over your eyelids but apply more liberally to the outer part of your eyelid, all up to the crease and 2mm beyond, making it so the eyeshadow line goes diagonally up from your inner eyelid. Put a dab of white on the innermost part of your inner eyelids near where it points to your nose to open up your eyes. Blend all colours so they flow. Finish with black mascara and a brush of dark shadow beneath your eyes but not to close to the inner part.
For your lips fill with a deep shade of red, not to bright because it will make you look deathly. A colour such as the one in the picture i showed you at the start.
But first line them with lip liner 2 shades darker than your lipstick. Perhaps one like the shade below for your skin tone.
Remember, the trick to gorgeous makeup is to own the look. Look confident and gorgeous, because you will be! Also, applying a good base concealer that matches your skin tone to your face will even out imperfections and make you glow. A touch of light bronzer will go with your dress aswell. Apply this to your cheeks, jawline, nose and decollatege.

As for hairstyle, a high quiff such as the one in the picture ^^ with a messy sidebun, such as the one below will look unique, and match your dress and makeup.

Go to your nearest second hand store and pick up a vintage red belt to cinch in your waist and add glamour. One like below perhaps

For your shoes, pick up any pair that are a similar colour to your other accessories, but perhaps with a silver buckle, so you can glitter up the look with a silver clutch. Shoes with just a bit of silver detail like this look fab but not the croc skin look

Also, this clutch is great to finish the look

Only accessorize with one silver bracelet or bangle so the look doesnt look fiddly.
Other then that, HAVE FUN! Relax, drink plenty of water and remember to walk in any shoes you buy for at least 6 hours before the day incase they're slippery and need to be fixed, to loose and you need sponges etc.
Good luck! Any questions, feel free to contact me
