I will be getting married this summer and am going to register soon. My fiance and I have been looking for some fun place settings (plates, bowls, mugs, etc). To give you an idea, I love these dishes from Tracy Porter: http://www.wrapables.com/images/product/C58631.jpg, but I think they are a little too much and we may get tired of them. Any ideas for something we may like? Thanks!!

Answer
I have been collecting fiesta dish's for about 20 years now, they come out with 1or2 new colors each year and they have everything you could want. I have never tired of them, I can set a table with different hues of green or make it a blue theme or reds and oranges, or like most days all colors.
They have an interesting history also back in the 40's at the "movie house" at least in the south they would give out Fiesta dish's. You may get a pink cup with a green saucer and so on. I have antique plates that are just for show.
Check it out. Macy's carries the line, but do a google or go to Fiesta.com

Wiggles birthday party- need some ideas?
Hi,
I am 100% commited to having a wiggles party. My kids love them., My little one is turning two and it is the only show that he loves. Here is the hard part. The party supply stuff is discontinued and i can buy bits and pieces on ebay but it gets very pricey.
I have alredady bought yellow, red, blue, and purple (the wiggles colors) tablecloths and dinnerware and cutlery. i figure I will mix it all up. I will do the same with balloons and i have a couple of wiggles balloons.
I have their music but besides that i have nothing to make the wiggles be seen. I dont know what else to do. I was thinking of priniting out their pics but then do what with it?
Any cool party ideas out here?? Please help!!
if you dont know the wiggles.. this will help http://www.thewiggles.com.au/ca/fanclub/

Answer
Not to worry...here's some ideas to incorporate the theme for the wee ones: Hang plenty of streamers and balloons. Balloons should be out of reach from young children. Use colored poster board to make large music notes and hang them from the ceiling and walls. Cover and set your party table.

Fashion a Henry the octopus centerpiece with a balloon and poster board.
Cut an eight legged star shape from the poster board. Make a small hole
in the middle. Tie a knot in your balloon and place it through the hole, then tape it to the board. Before you do this use a permanent marker to make a face on the balloon. Top with a "boater" hat similar to Henry's
(you can find this at a party, or costume shop).

Upon arrival, give each child a colored shirt and/or matching cap so they can be their favorite Wiggles Character - purple red yellow or blue. Painter caps can be purchased at the hardware store for around $1.00 - use fabric paint and a shaped paint sponge (craft store) to decorate the caps before the party. Or you can add googlie eyes, etc...pirate's hat with a feather, etc. This will be their souvenir.

WIGGLES BIRTHDAY PARTY GAMES & ACTIVITIES

Music Time
Use paper towel tubes, paper plates or plastic eggs to make instruments. Decorate with markers, stickers and preschool-friendly decorations. When the instruments are complete, play music and let the children play along.

Pin the tail on Wags or Dorothy
Just like Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Enlist an artistic teen to make a simple Wags the dog or Dorothy. Use construction paper and double stick tape on the tails. Don't forget to write names on each tail.

Find Feathersword's Treasure
Before the party hide gold plastic coins and toys for the children to find.

Jeff's Sleepy Time Tag
Play just like freeze tag but instead of freezing when tagged, the children will fall the children "asleep" until a friend wakes them up!

Dance Time
Provide pieces of colored streamer or ribbons to each child.
Put on a Wiggles CD and let the children dance and move!

Let's Feed Wags
Before the party, decorate a cardboard box to look like "Wags" the dog. Make one large brown circle and two simple floppy ears and a face.
Keep the top of the box open, or close it and cut a hole. Make or purchase four bean bags. You can make your own with small socks and dry beans.
Fill the socks with beans and tie a knot to secure with a rubber band.
Mark an "X" on the floor with tape. Place your "Wags" box a reasonable distance away from the "X" the children will take turns attempting to toss the beans bags into the top of the box.
All children get a small prize at the end of their turn.

EXTRA ACTIVITIES: Print out coloring pages from their website....provide bubbles for blowing. End the party with a story time to settle them down before going home.

Rainbow Punch
Make a rainbow in a cup!
Use ice cube trays to freeze several Kool-Aid or juice flavors in bright colors; red, purple, orange, yellow, green. To serve, place all of the cubes in a bowl and let the children fill their cups with the colored cubes. Pour a clear or light colored soda in the cup. (Put tops on cups so kids won't swallow cubes).

Anthony's Sandwich
Build your own "Anthony Sandwich" for lunch and don't forget the fruit. Provide a variety of sandwich makings and let the children create their own!

THE WIGGLES PARTY FAVORS
Say "Thanks for coming" with home-made party crackers!
Fill TP tubes with Wiggles party favors such as, mini-instruments, bubbles, stickers and/or fruit snacks add a bit of confetti.
Wrap the tube with the primary colored wrapping paper and tie the ends with ribbon. Your party guests will have an exciting surprise when they arrive home to open their gift!
