Will paper napkins look cheap with real dinnerware?

I'm getting married on December 26th and our colors are red and white. We're renting dinner plates, glasses, and flatware.. but we're on a tight budget and can't afford to have the real linens, also.

I planned on having the plates (which will be white with a silver trim) and glasses set out already on each table, then on each plate having a red paper napkin. On top of the napkin, will be a candy cane with a red ribbon tied around it attaching a tag with the name on it.

But I'm afraid the paper napkins may look cheap, what do you think?

Also, what color table cloths should I use? Red or white?
I checked with the rental company on the linens, we just simply can't afford them. No way, no how :(

Use paper napkins, they're made for wiping food from your face, you don't need to be so classy with something like that
