San Diego Has Its Own Way Of Ringing In The New Year
Celebrating New Year's Eve is one of those things that you either acknowledge with a bang or you let it sneak in quietly. Myself, I tend to prefer a quiet evening at home, perhaps preparing a nice dinner for myself and my wife, and if we're lucky, we make it to midnight to watch Ryan Seacrest on Times Square. Yeah, boring.
Other around San Diego (i.e. younger people:-) like to head to big events to celebrate with the rest of their friends and community. And that's cool, too, because San Diego has a couple of longtime traditions for ringing in the New Year.
Sure, we don't have an established gathering spot, a la New York City's Times Square or even Seattle's Space Needle, that San Diegans can go to without being charged an arm and a leg. Nevertheless, there are big bashes where you can go, even places where the whole family can go.
