I'm 18, and I wanna take my gf out to dinner, but I don't really have a ton I money to spend, and I also wanna take her to a fairly nice restaurant. Any recommendations?

Answer
Look on Groupon, and get a groupon for a place you will think she will like. Then tell her... "I wanted to take you some place new and I found this great place on groupon so I bought a groupon for us to go!" So, when you see a place on groupon, before you buy it, check out the website of the place and look up other ratings to see what its like (for classiness level)

But what I think the best thing to do is, make her dinner, find out what she likes and then get some fancy recipe online and get really good ingredients, make a nice salad and appetizer, then buy a fancy dessert or make it, you will pay a lot less and you will have better quality food and more of it. Set the table nice, wear some pretty boy sweater, light a candle and then if shes not happy with that, then well, i dont know what to tell you

Planning a trip to Hawaii?

So I'm planning a trip for my hubby and i on for our anniversary next September. I'm planning on buying te tickets six months in advance. So besides the price of tickets how much would I need to save for food, hotel, car rental fun, etc? I think we will plan to stay for a week. Thanks!

Answer
First you need to decide what activities you're interested in: hiking, swimming and exploring are free. All the islands have that in abundance. If you like to do more "activities" like luau, surf lessons, fine dining. etc. you'll have to change your budget a bit.

You can find good deals by signing up for livingsocial and groupon in Honolulu (only if you want to visit Oahu).

I don't recommend a package deal! Set an alert on kayak.com and keep an eye on ticket prices. Look for fare sales (which do happen to HI from the w. coast!). Then find your ideal hotel based on your budget and needs. (If you want to be on the beach or have a view of it, assume at least $100/night) Choose activities based on your needs and only rent a car for days you want to see the island. Parking can be a hassle and an extra cost (especially on Oahu). I don't recommend group tours because you can't explore on your own, it's not like you're in a foreign country and would get lost by not knowing the language! That way if you just want to lay on the beach for a day, you're not missing out on some pre-arranged trip!

It is more expensive here, but save money by buying groceries to make breakfast, pack a lunch and splurge on a nice dinner.
