Anyone know what shops I can buy a dinner set in Houston? I am looking for something microwave/ dishwasher safe, but not stoneware, priced at about $50 for 16 pieces.

I just bought a dinnerware set today at an antique store. They are called American Modern by Russell Wright. I only asked if they were dishwasher safe and now i'm kicking myself for it. I tried putting a bowl in the microwave, and it smelled bad and sort of made this vapor come out of the microwave. The lady in the store said they were definitely antiques which makes me think that was her way of saying there might be some problems with them. I know I can use them to serve cooked foods on, but I'd like to put them in the microwave too. I searched all over google and couldn't find my answer.

even on NEW dinnerware, unless it SAYS microwave safe on the back, it's NOT to be used in the machine.....

and Russel Wright's stuff is NOT safe there...there's metal in the colors....

this is a fine antique set... go get some Corelle for the microwave and daily use... save this for company!!....
