cheap corelle dinnerware sets image
Q. It's corelle and all the reviews I've read on it were great. I have been trying to find a green set and have had SUCH difficulty.. I guess green just isn't as popular. I'm buying the same ones as below but off of overstock.. if you know a site where I can get a green dinnerware set cheaper than 32 dollars than please share!! Thanks!

Another question.. I found a set that's cheaper and nice looking.. but it's not green. And my entire kitchen is green stuff. So I don't know which I should go with. Below is a link to the other one.. tell me what you all think. Thanks guys!

Moving In With Your Fi before the Wedding?

Moi
My boyfriend (almost Fi) and I will be moving in together the beginning of next year (he's waiting for his current lease to expire).
I live with my parents. I lived briefly away from home for a year in college. But, I had all hand me down furniture and such. My roommates cat ended up scratching and tearing up a majority of it, so I threw it all way when I moved out.
Anyway, my boyfriend and I have pretty much nothing in terms of household goods. I have a new bedroom set which I plan to bringing. I have offered to take my mother's old (only about 5 years old) dining room table off her hands, because she's recently redecorated and needs a good excuse to be a new, matching table. So, I told her that I'd be more than willing to give it a new home (since she didn't want to give her hardly used 5-year old table away to Goodwill)
My boyfriend has nothing. He lives in a bachelor pad and everything is old and needs to be put in the dumpster.
So, basically....
We have nothing but:
-A bed
-Dresser
-Night Table
-TV (2)
-DVD Player
-Laptop (2)
-One dining room table
-6 matching chairs
We have not dishes, no silverware, no towels, no cups, no small appliances (large appliances come with the apartment),
No anything. When we get married, Iâll be having a bridal shower. I know Iâll get lots of gifts. My family is very traditional and Iâll be the first girl and the first person in my immediate/extended family to get married. So, I know theyâll be pulling out all the stops for me.
So, I donât want to get anything too valuable, b/c Iâll have a registry for my shower. Yet, I DO NOT want hand me downs/used items.
What should I get in the mean time to hold me over? When should I start shopping for all these household items? Should I start now or wait until weâve at least signed a lease, so I know what kind of place weâll be in?
Thoughts? Anyone been in this situation?
Mrs. H that's the thing. We have nothing. I got rid of most of my stuff from college or gave it away. I didn't have room for stuff in my parent's house, so I gave all the dishes, pans, pots and even my coffee pot to my roommate. She was moving in with her boyfriend. My boyfriend has nothing. Everything is very, very old and he has a roommate who is getting his own place.
Plus, I think their dishes, pots and pans are his roommates. His roommates mom donated that stuff to them, so nothing is his.
Sorry, by hand me downs, I mean not goodwill, tag sales, etc.
I'll take hand me downs from my mom and my future mother in law.
But, I have a werid things about using plates and stuff from thirft stores.

Some stuff you should go ahead and start buying as soon as you can because you're not going to get any kind of furniture for your gifts. If you need dishware and flatware and other things that are normally wedding gifts, then go ahead and get some cheap stuff (here are some Target links to give you an idea) to tide you over.

You can donate these sets to a thrift store after you receive (or buy) the sets you want. If you can't store items at your mom's house, and you don't want to move them from your boyfriend's to your new place, then just start a savings account specifically for your new household items and start putting money away now. If you have direct deposit from a job it's easiest to just have your DD put a portion of your check into the account.
