Hi I am visiting Bremen this summer and I need someone to help me out on 2 issues. First, is it possible to get a bus/ tram / train to Bremen airport at around 3 in the morning?
Second, are there any cheap restaurants? Anyone knows prices of Pizza Hut, Mc Donalds or Burger King? Do other similar places to these 3 exist ? Thanks

Answer
Yes, Bremen has Pizza Hut and McD's. Bremen is a large city. A German fastfood chain that is similar to that is Nordsee, they specialise in fish and seafood. But that close to the coast many local restaurants serve better quality seafood than Nordsee. Cheap eateries are usually the Turkish Doner and Chinese take-away stalls. Some Greek restaurants are also good.

A meal in a cheap local restaurant will set you back around 15 EUR. Fastfood (including Doner, Nordsee meals etc) will be between 4-10 EUR.

But if you buy bread, cheese and fruits from the supermarket you can get by on less than 7 EUR per day (for breakfast, lunch and dinner). I live in Germany and I almost never eat at McDs or similar - it is not very economical (and unhealthy too) to buy a burger and fries for the same amount of money it costs to buy a half a loaf of bread, meat cuts or cheese and apples. The burger will fill me up for 3 hours, while the bread, cheese and fruit from the supermarket will be lunch, dinner and breakfast for the next day.

It is usually no problem to get to Bremen Airport, just take the tram. What I don't know is whether it will run at 3 am. You might have to take the last tram at around midnight and wait at the airport or take a taxi. Look here:

Can I lose the weight by the end of the summer?

blahblahbl

I am 13 years old, and I weigh 202lbs.
I am a girl, and I gained weight about 4-5 years ago when my parents got divorced and my mother fed me McDonalds every day for dinner.
I'm black/hispanic. My weight has spread to my thighs, stomach, and breast, and a little bit of my arms and face.

I know it's not in my genetics to be big, because right underneath my breasts, I can feel my ribs, and after 3 inches of ribs, my love handles start to come out, and then my stomach. I plan to at least lose 60-70lbs by going to the gym 3x a day. But go to the gym only 4 days a week. (Monday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday)

I want to either lose the weight, or just be in shape. I don't want to be a boobless stick, but I do want to be smaller.

Can I lose the weight by the end of the summer if I start now?

Answer
Yes you can, dear.

I see you have a lot of advice here, and most of it good. I also see you have a lot of support, and I applaud every one for that.

However, you need to find what works for your body. Advice is nice, but free, and you often get what you pay for. Don't believe everything you hear about pills and diets, most of those are from sources that are trying to make a sale.

The best advice I see here for you is a commitment to a lifestyle change. It was the lifestyle of McD's dinners that you saw as the source of your weight, a lifestyle of smart eating and exercise will not only take the weight off, but keep it off, and keep you healthy. And you'll still be able to keep some nice curves in your figure.

Moderate weight training is good, even once a week per muscle group. It will tone your muscles and strengthen you bones, and you won't "bulk up". And toned muscles burn calories, slowly but surely, not just when you use them, but 24/7.

Aerobic exercise is great for burning stored fat, and give you strong heart and lungs. Have the staff or trainers at your gym help you set up a program for this. Your exercise heartrate is the best guide to get the most out of your time, and maintain a safe workout pace.

Diet is indeed very important. You need to burn more calories than you eat, but you cannot starve yourself. Your body responds to your diet more than it responds to your exercise. You will see better results if you eat 4, 5 or even 6 small meals (not snacks) a day, totaling about 2500 calories a day, than if you cut way back on calories to try to force your body to burn fat. And be sure it's a healthy, low fat, balanced 2500 calories a day.

You will lose weight by the end of summer. How much, no one can promise. But you don't have to stop at the end of summer. do you? You can have a whole, healthy life ahead of you.

Best wishes to you.
