I know who

If you compliment a customer(in a food service setting), do you think you would be more apt to receive a tip as opposed to just smiling and handing the customers their food? I wanted to test it out and see if it really does work today. what are your thoughts? I'm not doing this for the money, I'm doing this as my own personal study.

Answer
I usually can tell when a wait-staffer is trying to pump me for a tip. When they do that, they're lucky to get a 10% tip. On the other hand when wait-staff takes good care of me, 20% is easy. Round the holidays 25 & even 30% happens.

The worst tip I ever gave (no, not a penny, this is worse) was a car wash token. My dinner wasn't all that tasteful. When I mentioned that I did not enjoy my meal all I got was "Oh". So I asked for the manager who gave me a coupon for a free meal NEXT time I came in. Not only was my food less than good, the service was lemon water poor (I'd use the urine analyses instead, but I don't want to get in trouble with Yahoo). Since he didn't seem to care about his service, I left him a car wash token. Absolutely worthless to him. It cost me a buck, but it was worth a buck to tell him that his service stunk.

So, when I sit at your table, smile and give good service. I'll enjoy my dinner more, and even will tell management that you took good care of me.

One other experience: I had a waitress who kept putting her knee against my thigh. So I grabbed it. She didn't like it, but I suppose I was supposed to think she liked me and I would have given her a bigger tip for it. She got a penny.

Good luck to you.

Have you used a VIP service in Las Vegas?

rbetts33

Hi guys/girls :)

I am throwing my brother a Bachelor Party in Las Vegas and I am looking into using a VIP service to set up our big night out. Has anyone used a VIP service in Vegas before, and if so, who do you recommend? I have priced things out on my own and I think it would be cheaper to go the VIP route. We have 5 guys, and looking to do dinner, roof top bar and a gentlemans club. Nothing crazy, and a few guys are on budgets.

Thanks!

Answer
No problem...

There are 'many' VIP services in town. My personally created joke is: "Everybody in Vegas in their early 20's thinks they're a VIP host" ...that's because everyone has a friend working at one of the many clubs at any given time. Issue is, they come and go every 1-6 months, so then they're at another club or selling shoes or something somewhere else. That's why 'we' don't play that game.

Not great news...Nearly all of them (majority) are 'people with some friends' at the club, once you get in...some/many of them...get you sat at a 'crappy' table, then 'up sell you' to a 'better' spot. Not all 'independent hosts' or 'independent VIP hosts' play those games...but probably most. Lots of 'better clubs' aren't working with 'outside hosts' anymore because of that stuff.

The GREAT news...I've been in Vegas in the hospitality field for nearly 20 years...my /our friends are the people who own, run, manage all the spots people want to come to Vegas for! Our "real friends" run or own the limo companies, restaurants, nightclubs, resorts, tour companies, etc etc. So, we don't just 'connect' you with a club...we can book the air, hotel, dinners, show tix, club deals, tours, receptions/conventions/special events, event staffing, and so much more...because we only deal with legitimate companies who deliver good value and great service. Period. We stand behand everything we do, as a professional company...not 'a guy/girl with some friends' that's just not a reliable scenario to 'gamble' your money on...right?

Your question implies you're worried about if the company you might be dealing with is 'legitimate' or not...so, here's some info on us...

Unlike everyone else, VIP club stuff isn't 'the only thing we do'...we're "legit" because we have been running conventions (in the thousands of people at a time) as well as smaller groups and individuals for years. We're 'direct affiliates' with nearly (90-95%) of all the major resorts (All MGM Resort properties nationally, all Caesar's Entertainment properties nationally, LV Sand's properties, Hilton's, etc)...we're listed as a resource for meetings/groups with the Las Vegas Visitor's bureau, licensed, background checked by the resorts themselves, a full-service travel agency (even a DMC), and 'we know the right people in the right places'....nearly everywhere. Our professional and personal friends are the executive chefs, club owners (yes, strip clubs too), hotel managers, convention managers, etc... Other than that, we're 'faking it' though. (smiling)

Feel free to contact us with what your budget is...or what you've been promised so far (lol)...heck if it's legitimate or through a friend that we respect (not a scam) we'll give you our blessing and you'll have more confidence that you're 'all good' with that. Either way, we'll give you the 'straight scoop' on a deal...no 'back door deals'...all legit from the 'power brokers' of Vegas...not from 'new hire employees" or employees cutting side deals that can go wrong on you.

Oh, I have 3 - 5 spots in mind for a restaurant/rooftop club combo...with limo/Las Vegas Strip tour...strip club deals, etc etc...and again, we can also help with your air and/or hotel bookinigs (which can also include club tix or meal deals, etc in addition to your 'night out' stuff)
