I want to make and paint my own clay dish set, what should I purchase and how should I begin to learn?

I'm an artist (painter), but I've never given pottery or clay a try. I haven't the slightest clue what to buy or what I need to create a dish from clay (I'll probably have to teach myself and watch others). I wish to one day create a set this clean and pretty looking:

What tools, supplies (glazes, clay type etc), and machinery do I need?

Instead of buying materials I suggest that you look into classes
Equipment is expensive, The kiln and pottery wheels are equipment you can have access to if you are taking some classes

If you went to where I took classes
you might complete a similar set in a 10 week class
Classes normally are once a week for 2 1/2 hours
You probably get more than one set done -
A lot of people enjoy the classes and become regulars

Say a 10 week class is 300 to 500 dollars
You might spend 3 or 4 thousand in setting up but not being sure what you are doing

Start reading and see what classes are available locally
Then decide what you want to do
I believe lessons are the quickest way to learn

Where can I find Pier One Urban Dot Dinnerware?

Looking for any pieces or sets of the discontinued pattern "Urban Dot" from Pier one. It is a graphic with about 2" squares with circles inside them in a contrasting color.
They colors of sqaures and dots are olive, black, purple, lilac, brown, blue, white, aqua and red. Replacements.com has a few but I am looking for more! Thank you.
