How much is el palomar dinnerware worth?

My father is a air conditioning man and we live in a somewhat wealthy area, well half is average and the other half is wealthy. But who was doing a job for a extremely wealthy couple and every now and then people actually give him stuff they dont want. They said it was a set of dining ware from mexico that was supposedly worth $5000. So i did some research and looked up the company which appears to be El Palomar Mexico or El Palomar, not sure which one. I looked up their website and they sold sets that maybe contained 15-20 pieces for a minimum $2500. Also on ebay individual plates would sell for like $20-50. I have a 53 piece set including:
-1 salt/pepper shaker set
-1 jar cup with a lid
-1 cup without a handle
-2 cups with a handle
-9 small bowls
-8 large bowls
-11 large plates
-7 medium plates
-8 small plates
-1 large square bowl/tray
-1 large rectangle bowl/tray

Another thing is on one of the pieces it has the date of 02-10-89, so am assuming it was made in 1989. So just tell me what you think its worth please.
