Our instructor gives us why people called that dinner condiments? But it uses for lunch !. so why dinner?

Answer
Those are dinnerware, not condiments. Condiments are salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard, etc.

Meals have different names in different places. Here in Canada, 'lunch' is often called 'dinner' and 'dinner' is often called 'supper'. 'Breakfast' is 'breakfast', no matter what the other meals are called. The evening meal (dinner) is really the biggest meal of the day and the table is usually set with a complete dinnerware setting - plates, salad bowls, bread dishes, knife, fork, spoon, drinking glass, etc. But many of those items are also used for breakfast and lunch as well. However, it would be silly to change the name for each meal. That's why they are generically known as 'dinnerware' and not 'dinnerware', 'lunchware', 'supperware', or 'breakfastware'.

Isn't there a site where I can get info about Altwasser Silesia china patterns? All I pull up is Ebay!!! LM

I inherited a full set of dinner china for 12 from my grandmother. There are several poorly mended pieces that I'd love to replace and then use. Upon looking, I find "Silesia" is not the pattern name..but all I can find on the net as links always takes me back to ebay...where I eventually want to go but only after I can educate myself a bit. My pattern is a thin pastel rim (3/4") with little pink roses interspersed with "medallions" of dark and light blue. The whole thing is interwoven with gold or wheat -colored trim and metallic gold bands on a pale yellow background. Most of the plate is white with some thin metallic gold bands.
