I am looking for a square white modern set. The cheapest I have found was at Walmart a set of four including mugs, dinner plate, appetizer plate, and salad bowls. I am looking for at least a set of six for the same price. Any help would be appreciated. I have also checked the following:

-Sears
-JCPenny
-Walmart
-KMart
-Bed Bath and Beyond
-Linens & Things
-Costco
-Macys
-Big Lots
-Pier One Imports
-IKEA
-Target

Is there anything else out there? Thanks!

I am looking for top quality dinnerware for 20 people?

It will be a Christmas present for my mother. We have a big family and when we have our meals together at holidays our dishes our mix and matched. My mom would really love to have a large set that matches. But I want to get her a really good dish set, not some cheap thing that breaks and scratches the first time you wash it. We hand wash our dishes by the way. Can anyone recommend a good brand of dishes and were I can find them? Here are the traits I would like.

1. Microwave and Dishwasher safe
2. Oven safe
3. Not easily chipped or scratched, like when hand washing
4. I don't really want a design, I would prefer a solid color
5. Not White, Not Black
6. Coffee cups and saucers aren't needed, but would be accepted
7. Serving dishes would be a bonus, lids would be even better

I am open to any suggestions though, who knows you might just change my mind. Thanks!

Answer
It depends on how much you want ot spend. If money is no problem buy restaurant quality, it will meet all your needs. If your budget is limited buy three, 8 piece. sets at Wall*Mart, that way you have 4 extra settings to replace what breaks.

How do you store stone dinnerware?

I just bought a beautiful set of stone dinnerware and have had them for just one day and already see scratches on them from stacking them in my cupboard. I've been looking online for some type of storage rack or something that will prevent them from sitting directly on one another... does anybody have any suggestions or links to websites or stores that sell some type of organizer for this?

Answer
I have several sets of stoneware and china, and live in an earthquake zone, so I found an inexpensive solution to keep them from scratching each other. I went to one of those moving stores and got a bunch of packages of their foam envelopes. They come in sizes that are perfect for dinner plates, salad bowls and desert plates. I actually insert each piece in sets I'm not currently using and put them between the plates and bowls for the ones I am. They are great, too, because you can wipe them off if they get dirty or dusty and nary a scratch during the quake we had a couple of weeks ago. I found mine at the U-haul store, but some discounters also sell them. If you have service for 12 like I do, one package of each will cover your set with some spares. And, they are cheap, too.

Where can I get the cheapest dinnerware (nice-ish china, not plastic) for my Wedding?

Catering my own wedding, would rather buy cheap china plates than rent or buy plastic. Where can I get the cheapest. I've looked at restaurant supply and Ikea, but if anyone knows a specific website or someplace I've overlooked...would love to know. Thanks.

Answer
Wal-Mart and Target both have inexpensive sets in white or a light pattern. Or you could have fun with it and go to a thrift store and pick out a bunch of different patterns to mix and match!
